Redware Pitcher,, Mustard Glaze
From Stephen Earp Redware, this medium size redware pitcher features a Sgraffito Vine and Leaf design used by immigrant German potters living from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Useful and beautiful. The technique was also practiced by rural English, French, and Italian potters. Sgraffito pottery is dipped into a white slip, with fanciful designs carved into the surface, exposing the dark clay underneath. The pitcher is approximately 7¼ inches tall and 6¼ inches wide.
All of Stephen Ear’s work is food safe, oven and microwavable, and dishwasher safe. As with all handmade pottery, expect slight variations of size and color.
