A Mooresville treasure, Lyla Peebles is known for her cooking and her hospitality. She owns Lyla’s Little House, featuring the best ice cream counter in town, as well as sweets, antiques and gifts.
Dawn Johnson is owner of Southern Traditions in Madison, Alabama. She designs and creates embroidered towels, napkins and runners, which are sold at stores throughout the country. Mooresville Mercantile carries several of her designs.
Barbara Jackson designs and creates crewel work in her Memphis studio, Tristan Brooks Designs. Her interest 17th and 18th century needlework inspired her work. Barbara consults nationally on needlework projects.
Jackie Miller is a Huntsville fabric artist specializing in creative hats, purses and scarves. She brings great color and a bit of fun to every project she creates at Jac-Win Designs. Shop at her store in Guntersville – or at Made By My Hand.
Sara Glines is a Traditional Artist at Mt. Crescent Crafts in New Hampshire. A basket weaver who creates functional as well as beautiful baskets, she also carves figures who come with an interesting story based on her own family’s history.
Kathi Bertsch is a long time lover of fiber arts. Embroidery, sewing, quilting and macrame are currently her favorite ways of expressing her creativity. She prefers to improvise designs rather than work from patterns and loves to merge modern methods with vintage skills and materials.
Jim Braun of Broken Star Workshop is a multi-talented artist making unique, handmade works in concrete, glass, metal and wood. Jim is a recent transplant to Alabama, coming from Missouri.
Tracy Murcks and her husband own and operate Murcks Family Chair Caning and Seat Weaving in Decatur. They are the area experts on caning and seat weaving and are always open to sharing their skills and knowledge.
Natalie Ashford owns Clever Container. She's also an accomplished crafter and brings her creativity to organization.
