Kay Sheaff of SpringHouse Pottery is retiring at the end of this year. In preparation for her retirement, we have stocked a large variety of SpringHouse Peddler holiday and non-holiday plates.
One of the joys of owning Mooresville Mercantile is the friendships we have developed with traditional artists. Kay and her husband, Bob, were first recognized by the Directory of Traditional American Crafts in 1999, and we first became acquainted at shows in Virginia. Our creative partnership with SpringHouse Peddler began more than five years ago. Kay readily responds to our customers’ desires, such as creating the popular Cotton Boll plate. We’ve shared many stories and ideas sitting on the porch of their stone farmhouse in Pennsylvania. As Kay and Bob move into the next phase of their lives, we wish them well and we know our friendship with this creative couple will continue.
